Oral Biopsies

Oral Biopsies generally cause few problems. A gause pad should be left in place after surgery for nine minutes then discarded. Medication for discomforts such as Ibuprofen, Tylenol, or aspirin may be used if necessary. Discomfort should resolve in 1-2 days. The biopsy site should not limit activity in any way.A fairly normal diet is encouraged even immediately after surgery. Some oozing is anticipated for a day or two this should not be alarming. Results can take up to 7-10 days to return to the office. Results will be reviewed with you at your follow-up visit. Please ask any questions you have, the more you understand the better.
